The 1991 Cabbage Patch Kids Collector Club Special Edition Doll. Each doll was hand signed by Xavier Roberts and each is individually numbered. This was an astronomical price at the time, but by 1991 Xavier had stopped hand signing the dolls so this was a very special offer. Richard Russell was limited to the number that was reserved, one per club member, and most have remained in the hands of the club members who adopted them in 1991. Which is why you rarely see this doll offered for sale. Richard Russell was the very first mini Sprout Edition Cabbage Patch Kid. These intricately detailed 6 Inch Dolls breathed new life into the brand and became some of the most popular Cabbage Patch Kids ever, and this is the one that started it all. Limiting Club Members to one doll insured that dealers or "flippers" (yeah they were around back then) would not be able to hoard and sell these.

It truly was one per collector with each "parent" noted on the birth certificate and adoption paperwork. Doll comes with framed birth certificate with adoption record (on reverse), Exclusive blanket, outfit w/hat & original order form/solicitation sent to club members only.
